Here's a thread I saw today in a hormonal group on Facebook.  I know zillion women just like this one. Is this you too?

"I have severe pms, it effects my life in a negetive way so bad. Out of a month I have 2 weeks of feeling ok and then the depression hits ...anxiety ..severe tiredness....bad deep moods ...short temper...crying. Ive been like this for 15 years. Ive tried contreception pills ..which sent me through the roof and I've been pumped with so many antidepressants.
Please help x

I don't like milk ..yogurt or cheese, although i will stuff my face with chocolate every month.
Its horrible isnt it..having your life took over every month xx

I'm on a very low dose of antidepressant. 

I don't smoke or drink.

I dont drink coffee or tea but i do drink 2-3 glasses of diet pepsi a day.
My diet is ok for 2 weeks of the month.

I love fruit n veg but then the pms kicks in and i crave food ...bad food...stodgy food ..white bread ...chips ...chocolate...its just out of control.

I was once slim and very fit ...loved running.

The past 3 years pms has got a hold on me and i feel the strain on my mind and body. In the last 3 years I've put on 63 pounds." - Anonymous

Then a man chimed in and gave her this advice: 

"Try lying over a tightly rolled up towel placed at lower abdomen breathing deeply into female parts, inhaling balooning belly into roll, exhaling releasing weight on to roll. Also learn standing AgniSara Dhati and Nauli (stomach churning or rolling)."

Really dude??? He said he energy chakra is blocked.

First of all, this woman has been allowing this suffering for fifteen years. I can't even wrap my head around that.

Secondly, she thinks she's eating right, but drinks Diet Pepsi 2-3 times a day and then a slew of bad food for two weeks.  This is just about the worst thing you can be drinking besides alcohol.

And then there's the 63 pound weight gain.

The food all counts! Don't be surprised.

And here's where most women go wrong.


And so begins the anti-depressants. It's a band-aid.

Your period's are debilitating due to your diet which means more estrogens which means more endometrial build up.

Passage of large clots through the neck of the uterus during menstrual flow causes pain.

Normally, menstrual blood contains factors that prevent clotting. But your poor diet causes blood to clot more readily, adding more pain to the menses.

A poor diet will increase the levels of these hormones in a woman’s body through a variety of mechanisms.


Another important mechanism involves recirculation of hormones.

To prevent re-absorption by the intestine, estrogens are combined in the liver with a non-absorbable substance.

A poor diet encourages growth of the bacteria in the colon that produce enzymes that uncouple those unabsorbable estrogen complexes formed in the liver.

Then the uncoupled “free” estrogen is absorbed back into the blood stream, resulting in higher total levels of estrogen in the woman’s body.

Women over 40 who eat the proper diet, excrete 2 to 3 times more estrogen in their feces. You've got to get the excess estrogens OUT.

Obesity causes a body to produce more estrogens. Male hormones, called androgens, naturally present in small amounts in women, are converted to estrogens by their body fat.

The more obese a woman is, the more of this conversion occurs, and the higher will be the levels of estrogen hormones from this source.

It's a vicious cycle and if you don't get a hold of it by menopause, you're in for a decade or more of hormonal hell.
